We’re super excited about our upcoming Ergathon fundraiser! We want to:

  1. Raise $5,000 to support our youth rowing program
  2. Have fun as a club,
  3. Row as many meters as possible, and
  4. Get amped for the 2024 season!

There will be lots of fun events happening throughout the day!

  1. Constant Flywheel Challenge: We need to keep one flywheel moving throughout the event (10AM-3PM)! How many meters can the BCR community erg on a single erg!? Sign up for a 15-minute spot to participate, and be sure to secure donations based on how many meters you think you’ll erg!
  2. 42,195m Relay: Put together a team of any size and take part in a 42,195m Relay (42,195m = 26.2 miles, aka a marathon). Registration fee of $42.19 (a $0.005 discount!) per person goes toward our fundraising goal. Prizes will be awarded for the team that finishes in the fastest time and the team that raises the most funds for BCR.
  3. BRASS Challenges: Our Juniors are putting together fun challenges and activities for themselves. All youth (and any cool adults) are encouraged to participate! These will happen throughout the day.
  4. Morningside Community School Challenge: Morningside Community School students will have additional special challenges throughout the day.
  5. Learn to Row: Friends and family of BCR and members of the YMCA can drop in for a brief introduction to rowing. Donations recommended.
  6. Buddy Ergs: Take a spin on any empty erg at any time throughout the day to support participants!
  7. Eat: Erging requires fuel, so we’ll have plenty of snacks to share!

We’ll also have information about the 2024 season, gear for sale (shirts, hats, etc), and a slideshow of our 2023 memories on display. Stop by for a great time!

Last, we need volunteers! Email Head Coach Becca Cadoff (headcoach@berkshirerowing.com) if you want to lend us your erg; help with setup, cleanup, or throughout the day; or reach out to local businesses for donations.

We look forward to seeing you on March 23!

P.S. The best way to participate is to show up on March 23! But, if you were silly and made plans to go out of town ahead of time, we will let you know how you can participate remotely – besides helping us reach our fundraising goal, of course.
