President’s Message:
We are on the verge of getting back on the water. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait! To do that, we need to take care of our dock and get the good pieces floating again. To do that, we need many hands to help disassemble it, move the compromised pieces aside, and reassemble. We hope to start this on Saturday, March 28. Can you join us? Get in touch by email to let us know if you can help.
Sign Up for the 2026 Season
Registration for our 2026 season is open on RegattaCentral, regattacentral.com, and as always, we encourage monthly ACH payments if that’s helpful for you — just send an email to info@berkshirerowing.com to learn how to set it up.
Volunteer Opportunity for BCR member
Pittsfield officials are proposing a new Lake Management Commission to oversee the long-term health of Pittsfield’s lakes. If approved by the City Council, there’ll be seven members, five appointed by the mayor and two appointed by Conservation Commission and Parks Commission. You don’t have to be a city resident to serve. Want to volunteer? Contact Anne Pinkston.
Lake Onota Preservation Association – Support for Milfoil Treatment
Please read the attached letter from the Association. The BCR Board has contributed $1,000 in club funds to support the milfoil infestation. Each Board member is also making a personal donation. All BCR members are urged to contribute to demonstrate our support of the city’s and LOPA’s efforts to clean up our lake.
Boathouse opening: Saturday April 18 – 8 am to noon.
National Learn to Row Day: Saturday June 6, 2026.
BCR Committees:
We need active, focused committees, and we need you to be an active, focused committee member.
As committee members, we reduce the burdens on the board, we bring specialized expertise, we get things done, and we provide consistency and build institutional knowledge. Check out the presentation Connell McGrath gave at the annual meeting March 18th for details. It’s here.
So . . . volunteer for a BCR Committee of your choice and drive BCR forward!
